Celtic Run Before You Crawl 5k, 10k & Kid's Fun Run

Monroe, WI

Race Start:
5k/10k run/walk begins at 9:00 am

10k - The 5k race will begin at the circle drive in front of the Y.  You will start the race by heading west and then cutting to the northwest on Old Argyle Road.  This will be a gradual incline.  You then come back to the south on the Highway 69 Frontage Road, curve around by Parkside Elementary before heading back up to the newer subdivision north of the Y.  After making your way through the subdivision, you will have a very long, straight stretch on 14th Ave.  This stretch will begin fairly flat before tapering downhill slightly and then uphill as you come to the park entrance.  You will then make your way through the park before finishing up at the Y.

10k - The 10k will follow the 5k course until the Twining Park entrance approximately 2.5 miles into the race. While the 5k runners turn off and finish on 2nd street after running though the park, 10k participants will continue South just a few yards to the Badger State Trail. This is your speed zone! Runners will head West on the trail until 10th street then turn around and head East to highway 11. From highway 11 it's back West a short distance to 22nd Ave, on to Mansion Drive and back to 14th Ave and through Twining park to finish in front of the Y, just as the 5k. Trail conditions can very this time of year so be cautious of mud, snow, ice and standing water.

Strollers allowed!  Sorry no pets.

Kid's run begins at 8:30 am

The Kid's Fun Run will begin at the same place as the 5k run.  The kids will run out of the circle drive and head west on 2nd Street.  They will go about a 1/4-1/2 mile before making a U-turn and heading back towards the Y.  The kid's run will finish at the Finish Line of the 5k race.  This run is for kids 10 years of age or younger.
